Medieval Castle Gate in Winter Train Terminal

Bright tropical light floods the vast interior of a restored train terminal near Kutaisi, illuminating a heavy medieval castle gate with a raised portcullis. The iron bars of the portcullis hang high against a backdrop of winter-bare ground and distant structural beams. Sharp shadows stretch across the tiled floor, following the geometric lines of the tracks that lead directly toward the stone archway. The cold season is evident in the bare, dormant plants visible through the terminal's open roof sections, against the intense, direct sunlight. Dust motes swirl in the beams, highlighting the rough texture of the aged stone and the smooth, dark metal of the gate mechanism. at the edge is the precise alignment of the track rails meeting the threshold of the ancient gate.
