Golden hour light spills across the mossy stone rim of a narrow Venetian canal, illuminating a weathered wooden workbench cluttered with the tools of a local mason. A pair of heavy work gloves rests beside a rusted trowel and a knife-marked block of wood, evidence of recent repair work on the adjacent terracotta facade. In the shallow foreground, a small patch of iris blossoms pushes through the cracks in the paving, their purple petals catching the warm, low-angle sun.
