Masai Warrior Face with Red Ochre in Makeni

Late afternoon sun strikes a centered face covered in thick red ochre and rows of colorful beads. The skin texture shows deep lines where the pigment settles, against the smooth, hard surface of the beadwork resting against the cheeks. Crisp high-altitude light defines the sharp angles of the nose and brow, casting distinct shadows under the chin. Ground fog pools in the lower background, creating a soft gray layer beneath the subject's shoulders. The cool season air leaves the light clear and unblurred, highlighting the specific placement of the ornaments along the neck. The fog ends abruptly at the edge of the subject's dark clothing.
