Faint white flakes drift through the air against the dark backdrop of a late-night street in Taichung. An elderly man with deeply lined skin and a prominent scar running across his left cheek stands under the warm, amber glow of overhead string lights. His expression is still and attentive, framed by soft, out-of-focus light orbs in the immediate foreground. Early winter cold is visible on his face and the gentle accumulation of snow on his shoulders. The light catches the texture of his weathered skin and the subtle sheen of moisture on his coat. One snowflake rests momentarily on the brim of his hat before melting.
