Wet surfaces gleam under the harsh, flat wash of a nearby neon sign reflecting off the damp interior of a community center hall in Varna. A simple, unpolished metal mannequin cape hook mounts on peeling plaster, devoid of any glossy finish. The late spring night presses against the windows, while the room glows with a cold, blue-white sheen from the artificial light. Condensation coats the glass and drips down the wall beside the fixture. Long, distorted shadows stretch across the institutional concrete floor, merging the dark outside with the sterile inside. A small droplet rests on the bottom edge of the metal hook, catching the neon light in a sharp, jagged highlight.
