Mandala Artists Create Sand Art in Winter Drizzle

Vibrant piles of colored sand sit in small metal bowls arranged on a wet stone floor of a temple courtyard. Two figures in dark winter coats kneel on the damp ground, their hands moving with precise rhythm to shape intricate geometric patterns in the sand. Light rain creates small, shimmering puddles around the bowls and darkens the grey pavement. The sky above is a flat, overcast white, casting soft, even light that eliminates harsh shadows while highlighting the wet sheen on the sand grains. Deep blues, oranges, and reds of the colored sand contrast against the muted grey of the early winter day. The artists focus intently on the delicate lines they draw, their movements steady despite the cold drizzle falling around them.
