A rhythmic beam of white light cuts through the dark coastal air, sweeping across shallow tide pools near Salvador. The dry season air hangs heavy with a faint plankton haze that softens the distant horizon into a muted gray. Within the rock pools, the water surface ripples with the reflected movement of passing clouds, creating a shimmering double layer of sky and stone. The low angle emphasizes the wet, dark basalt textures of the rocks, which glisten under the intermittent illumination. Bright highlights dance on the water's edge, against the deep shadows of the crevices. at the edge is a small starfish clinging to a submerged rock, illuminated briefly by the passing light.
