Lighthouse Silhouette in Autumn Fog and Blue Hour Twilight
by Joel Zuniga
Cool blue twilight washes over the coastal edge near Catania, where a dense fogbank rolls in from the sea. The lighthouse stands as a dark, vertical silhouette against the fading sky, its lantern room barely visible through the mist. Raindrops streak the lens of the structure, creating a textured sheen on the stone surface that reflects the dim ambient light. Patches of brief sunlight pierce the gray clouds, illuminating the falling rain in the distance while the foreground remains shrouded in damp shadow. Autumn leaves, wet and heavy, rest on the railing beside the tower, their brown and russet hues muted by the moisture. The fog softens the horizon line, merging the dark water with the overcast sky in a seamless gradient of slate and indigo. One beam of light cuts through the mist, highlighting the droplets suspended in the air near the tower's base.
