Lavender and Wheat Border in Beijing Terminal

Honey-colored light from a large window washes over a restored train terminal near Beijing, illuminating a stark boundary where a field of purple lavender meets golden wheat. The plants are arranged flat against the floor, creating a two-dimensional landscape that fills the foreground. Condensation beads along the lower edge of the glass, distorting the view of the stalks just slightly. The copper-toned light casts soft, elongated shadows across the textured petals and grain heads. High above, the terminal's arched ceiling and exposed iron beams frame the agricultural display, at the base of the organic forms in industrial architecture. The contrast between the deep violet and bright straw yellow dominates the visual plane, ending in a sharp line where the two crops touch the polished concrete.
