Laundry Line in Paris

Neon reflections from a nearby bistro spill across a rain-slicked Parisian sidewalk, illuminating a narrow strip of wet cobblestone where a discarded laundry line hangs between two wrought-iron balconies. Several colorful plastic clothespins rest on the damp rope, catching the cyan and magenta glow of passing streetlights, while below, a woman in a sharp, tailored trench coat pauses to adjust her collar, her silhouette framed against the blurred motion of a passing taxi.
