Kut Children Chalk Drawings Under Sodium Light

Warm yellow-orange sodium vapor light washes the concrete sidewalk near a riverside landing in Kut. Two children sit cross-legged on the rough pavement, their hands busy with colorful chalk sticks. They draw geometric shapes and simple figures on the gray surface, creating bright spots of blue, red, and yellow against the worn ground. The clear sky above transitions from deep blue to the glow of the city lights beginning to flicker on in the distance.
