Bright midmorning sunlight strikes the wet concrete of a harbor quay near Abuja, creating sharp, high-contrast reflections across the damp surface. A Kurdish shepherd stands in disciplined focus, gripping a wooden crook with a firm grip. The cool season air has cleared the storm, leaving the sky a pale, washed-out blue above. Hard coastal glare defines the folds of his heavy wool clothing and the weathered grain of the crook. Water beads on the rough stone edges of the quay, while the shepherd's posture remains rigid against the horizontal expanse of the harbor. The low angle emphasizes the height of the figure against the distant water line. one drop of water slides down the curved tip of the wooden staff, catching the light before falling into the shadowed gap between the stone blocks.
