A Shikoku Ken stands alert on the weathered wooden planks of a front porch in Kabwe, its coarse tan and black coat catching a faint rim of blue light against the deepening shadows. The dog's triangular ears stand erect, framing a muzzle with distinct black pigmentation, while low-hanging rain clouds obscure the sky above. Rain-slicked railings run parallel to the dog's stance, their gray wood showing signs of recent moisture. The shallow depth of field blurs the yard beyond into soft greens and grays, keeping focus on the animal's textured fur and the grain of the porch boards. Water droplets rest on the edge of the railing, reflecting the dim ambient glow of the rainy season evening.
