Kitchen Counter in Izmir

Summer evening light spills across a cramped Izmir kitchen where a wall-mounted electric fan oscillates slowly, its plastic blades blurring against the warm, peach-toned tiles. Below it, a stainless steel bowl sits on a counter cluttered with a woven bottle caddy holding amber glass bottles and a stack of damp, striped drying towels draped over a chair back. A blue and white porcelain plate rests near the edge, catching the last bright orange sunbeams that cut through the window, highlighting the texture of the wet fabric and the cool sheen of the metal.
