Orange Peel in Izmir

In the deepening blue hour of Izmir, a narrow alleyway glows with the warm, artificial spill from a corner bakery. The scene is anchored by a weathered wooden tea tray resting on a low stone ledge, holding three small, tulip-shaped glass tea mugs filled with dark, steeped çay. Beside the tray, a simple ceramic plate holds several segments of orange peel, their bright zest contrasting sharply with the cooling twilight. A pair of leather tool aprons hangs loosely on a rusted hook in the background, their straps catching the yellow streetlight. The wet cobblestones reflect the amber glow, creating a textured surface that grounds the intimate arrangement of daily life against the encroaching evening.
