Ionic Column Model on Workshop Shelf in Thies

Pale dust particles hang in vertical beams of light that cut across a cluttered wooden shelf near Thies. A miniature neoclassical entrance model sits under the flat glare of noon, its Ionic capitals curling with precise volutes against the rough grain of the wood. Indirect light bounces off the surrounding pale walls, creating a shadowless wash that highlights the smooth plaster texture of the columns and the fluted shafts. Beside the structure, a chaotic pile of twisted, wild plant fibers spills across the surface, introducing a rugged, untamed element that contrasts with the architectural symmetry. The model rests at a three-quarter angle, revealing the depth of the entablature while fine lines of the fluting catch the diffuse brightness. A small chip of plaster lies at the edge of the shelf.
