High Jumper Arching Over Bar at Dawn

Early winter light falls through heavy overcast skies to illuminate a roadside stop near Santiago. A high jumper in dark athletic gear arches backward over the bar, their body suspended in a deep curve. The athlete remains mostly in shadow, while a sharp rim of pale morning light traces the curve of their spine and the edge of their raised legs. Behind the jump, a weathered wooden sign stands against a backdrop of gray hills. The metal bar gleams faintly against the muted tones of the dry grass and dusty ground. A shadow stretches across the foreground where the jumper's feet have just left the earth.
