Deep shadows cloak the concrete ledges while a sharp rim of early sunlight cuts the athlete's silhouette. The figure is frozen mid-air, legs extended, leaping across a gap between flat terraces. Below, thick ground fog pools in the valley, softening the distant hillside and hiding the street level. The dry season leaves the surrounding vegetation brown and brittle against the grey masonry. Low-angle perspective emphasizes the height and the precarious distance between structures. The athlete wears dark athletic clothing that blends into the shadowed wall, highlighted only by the bright edge of the morning light along their spine and shoulders. A thin shadow falls across the rough texture of the adjacent roof surface.
