Hexagonal Salt Crystals at Dawn in Mymensingh
by Brynn Mayer
Pale gold light spills across a vast expanse of dried earth, illuminating a mosaic of hexagonal salt crystals that fracture the ground into geometric tessellations. The terrain stretches endlessly toward a horizon where the sky transitions from soft violet to warm amber haze. Each polygon stands slightly raised, catching the low sun and casting tiny, sharp shadows that define their three-dimensional ridges. The surface appears dry and brittle, textured with fine white powder trapped between the darker cracks of the clay. In the distance, a faint atmospheric haze softens the edge where the land meets the sky, showing the scale of the flat. One cluster of crystals in the foreground reflects the morning glow, revealing translucent edges against the matte white crust.
