Hefei Waterfront Evening Celebration with Drizzle

Honeyed evening light wraps the horizon, casting a warm glow over a crowded waterfront gathering in Hefei. A light drizzle creates a misty veil across the water, where flat-bottomed boats float near the muddy banks. Spectators in casual rain gear stand along the concrete embankment, watching the activity on the water. The dry season leaves the surrounding vegetation sparse and brown. Layers of depth recede from the immediate foreground of splashing water to the distant, hazy silhouette of the city skyline. Wet pavement reflects the soft amber sky. at the edge is a single raindrop sliding down a translucent plastic rain poncho worn by a spectator.
