Hand-Forged Skewers by Afyonkarahisar Fireplace

Two dark, hand-forged iron skewers rest horizontally across the rough-hewn stone hearth of a traditional fireplace near Afyonkarahisar. The metal surfaces show uneven hammer marks and a matte black oxidation that absorbs the soft, overcast light filtering through the room. Behind the skewers, embers glow faintly within the dark recess of the firebox, casting a warm, reddish hue against the surrounding masonry. The floor tiles are smooth and cool, reflecting the muted tones of the iron and the dim light in elongated, distorted shapes.
