Molten side light strikes three ears of corn resting on a metal grate, turning their charred kernels into deep, jagged blacks against the copper-toned glow of early spring dusk. The corn sits inside a prayer hall near Murino, where the open door reveals dramatic clouds rolling over a landscape that hints at salt-air freshness. Steam rises faintly from the hot coals beneath the grate, mixing with the cool air of the thaw season. Rough wooden beams frame the background, while the metallic surface of the grill reflects the fading sky. The kernels glisten with a thin layer of oil where the fire has touched them most intensely. One kernel breaks away, revealing the pale yellow interior beneath the blackened crust.
