Golden Honey Oozing from Macro Honeycomb Cells

by Duane Stephens

Amber liquid pools within the hexagonal chambers of a wax honeycomb, glowing under warm window light. The comb rests directly on a bed of vibrant green moss, its surface wet with morning dew that mirrors the golden hue above. Early spring air leaves no frost, only a soft sheen on the textured wax and damp vegetation. The honey flows slowly, filling the deep cavities with a viscous, jewel-like clarity. Muted reflections stretch across the dark floor beneath the moss, at the base of the bright subject in shadow. Tiny droplets rest on the edges of the wax cells, catching the light before merging with the larger pool below.
