Girl Reading in Blanket Fort Beirut Studio

Pale walls of a studio in Achrafieh reflect the soft, diffused light of late afternoon midsummer. A girl sits inside a makeshift blanket fort constructed from heavy fabrics draped over chairs. She holds a small flashlight that casts a focused beam onto an open book in her lap. The light creates a warm pool of brightness against the cool, muted tones of the surrounding room. Shadows stretch across the floor, where faint reflections of the fort's edges shimmer on the smooth surface. The girl's posture is still and intent, her face illuminated by the single point of artificial light. The heavy drapes of the fort frame her completely, separating her from the empty studio space. A small gap in the fabric reveals the texture of the concrete floor beneath.
