Frozen Silage Jug Stand Namibia Wet Season in near a windbreak and water trough in Namibia

Frozen Silage Jug Stand Namibia Wet Season

by Samantha Pace

Hard coastal glare strikes the wet concrete floor where a metal stand holds plastic silage inoculant jugs. Straws and damp earth drift along the edges, refusing to settle. Above the trough, a cluster of water droplets hangs suspended in midair, defying gravity. The sky is a flat, unbroken blue, offering no relief from the harsh light. Shadows fall sharply beneath the jugs and the frozen droplets, anchoring the impossible stillness to the ground. One straw fragment rests on the wet surface near the base of the stand, while the water droplets shimmer with a distorted reflection of the clear sky above.
