Cool blue twilight washes the parade ground in Guyana, casting a uniform grey sheen over the concrete slabs. A white canvas field hospital tent stands centrally, its fabric wrinkled and stained with dry dust, showing the wear of active service. Heavy steel fencing posts line the background, their surfaces darkened by the fading light. Shadows lengthen across the ground, softening the hard edges of the tent poles. The sky presses against the taut canvas and rigid metal. A faint reflection of the dim sky glimmers on a wet patch of concrete near the tent's entrance flap. The structure rests firmly on the flat earth, its worn surfaces catching the last ambient light.
