Crumbling Cinder Block Wall at Tram Stop Midnight

by Seth Singleton

Gray cinder blocks crumble downward into a narrow back alley beneath a tram stop in Nizamabad. Passing vehicle headlights flash across the rough, pitted surface of the masonry, briefly exposing rusted rebar and loose concrete chunks. The light cuts through low-hanging clouds, leaving the upper wall in deep shadow while illuminating dust motes and gravel scattered on the ground. A jagged vertical crack runs down the center of the damaged section, separating intact blocks from the debris pile. The asphalt edge of the alley meets the scattered rubble at the bottom of the frame, where a single shadow stretches across the stones.
