Crimson Japanese Maple Leaves in Twilight

Deep crimson leaves of a Japanese maple hang against a cool blue twilight sky near Diyarbakır. Humid air after rain coats the glossy surfaces with a thin layer of moisture. Water droplets rest on the veins and edges of the foliage, reflecting the fading ambient light. The background dissolves into a smooth blur of indigo and gray, isolating the intricate branch structure. Late autumn colors shift from scarlet to burnt orange along the margins of the leaves. Shadows fall across the lower branches where the ground meets the damp earth. The wet texture of the leaves contrasts with the soft, diffused glow of the evening.
