Craftsman's Workbench in Tunis

A narrow alleyway in Tunis glows with the intense amber of late summer evening, sunlight slicing through the high whitewashed walls to strike a cluttered wooden workbench. On the surface, a pair of worn leather aprons hangs from a hook, their texture rough against the smooth, sun-baked plaster. Beside them, a small glass bottle catches the light, throwing a sharp, faceted rainbow onto a stack of blank notebooks, their crisp white pages against the dusty wood. Nearby, a simple ceramic saucer holds a few scattered dates, sticky and dark, while a brass thimble rests near a half-finished leather stitch.
