Alleyway Workbench in Granada
by Arnold Reyes
Bright afternoon sun floods a narrow, whitewashed alley in the Albaicín district, illuminating a cluster of terracotta pots and drying linens suspended from a wrought-iron balcony above. In the foreground, a weathered wooden workbench holds a ceramic wash basin and a glass bottle, partially obscured by the shadow of a passing pedestrian's shoulder. The rough texture of the stucco wall contrasts with the smooth, reflective surface of the basin, which catches a sharp glint of light from the street below. A sudden gust lifts the hem of a hanging wool scarf, revealing the intricate embroidery thread catching the sun before settling back into place.
