Under the harsh, shadowless glare of a Mumbai noon, a narrow kitchen interior reveals a cramped workspace where daily labor unfolds. A stainless steel dish drainer overflows with wet plates and chipped ceramic bowls, water pooling on the tiled counter below. Beside it, a yellow electric kettle sits unused, its cord coiled tightly against the wall. A white flour sifter rests upside down near a cluster of garlic bulbs, their papery skins catching the flat light. In the corner, a small flowering plant with bright red blooms pushes through a crack in the grout, adding a splash of organic color to the utilitarian space.
