Colorful Crosswalk at Matola Metro Entrance

Brightly painted stripes of red, yellow, and blue stretch across sun-bleached asphalt at a street corner outside a Matola metro entrance. The late autumn light sits high and dry, casting sharp, short shadows that define the rough texture of the pavement. Heat waves shimmer visibly above the ground, distorting the edges of the colorful paint into wavering lines. The scene is viewed from behind the crosswalk, looking toward the station structure. A faint, rain-wet sheen remains on the darkened edges of the concrete, suggesting recent moisture despite the clear sky. at the edge is a small crack in the yellow stripe where the paint has peeled away to reveal the gray stone beneath.
