Brass rulers lie scattered beside sharp awls, their metal tips catching the harsh pink spill of runway lights. Pale muslin strips drape over the table edge, tangled with loose threads that shimmer in the humid night air. The background reveals carved wooden doors typical of a Fez changing area, their intricate patterns half-hidden in the deep shadows of the backstage glow. Droplets of condensation rest on the cool wood near the open doorway, evidence of the recent midsummer rain. One shadow stretches across the clutter, ending abruptly at the rough grain of the table surface.
