Soft window light from a high window casts quiet shadows along the walls, deepening the contrast of the midnight hour. The monsoon season outside is hinted at by the damp condensation on the glass, while the interior remains dry and orderly. Wooden handles of the sticks align in precise parallel lines, ending in a cluster of shadows where the light dips lowest on the counter edge.
