Soft overcast light floods a cavernous studio space in Can Tho, illuminating a cheese maker working amidst cool season air. The wide panoramic view captures rough limestone walls curving overhead, against the smooth, reflective floor where muted reflections of tools and equipment linger. The artisan moves with focused energy, handling curved wheels of pale cheese on wooden racks. Dust motes float in the diffuse beams, settling on metal molds and woven baskets stacked against the stone. Cool tones dominate the palette, with earthy browns of the wood and grey of the rock. A final beam of light strikes a wet edge on a ceramic bowl, highlighting the texture of the cheese rind.
