Brown Bear Cubs Wrestling on Kamchatka Riverbank
Two young brown bears grapple on a gravel bank above a rushing glacial stream in Kamchatka. Late morning coastal glare hits the wet stones, creating sharp highlights on the water's surface and the bears' thick fur. Early autumn wind whips the sparse tundra grasses, bending them low against the earth. The cubs twist and tumble, their paws locking as they vie for dominance. Behind them, the dark, churning water flows rapidly, against the stillness of the predators. A shadow from a nearby boulder falls across the lighter fur of the cub on the left, marking the edge of the light.
