Orange low-angle light washes over a brass theodolite mounted on a tripod, its polished metal catching the last warmth of the day. The instrument stands firm beside the exposed steel skeleton of a building shell, framed by the stark geometry of unfinished concrete columns. Fine rain creates a sheen on the ground, turning the dry earth into a slick, dark surface that reflects the sky. Winter air hangs heavy, visible in the slight condensation gathering on the cold brass lens. The background reveals the skeletal ribs of the structure against a fading sky, while droplets slide slowly down the tripod legs. one drop of water rests on the brass focusing knob, trembling before it falls.
