Black Muslin Dress Form with Silver Pins

Crisp late-afternoon sunlight floods a backstage corner in Lodhi Colony, Delhi, illuminating a dress form draped in black muslin. Silver draping pins secure the fabric at irregular intervals, catching the high-altitude light with sharp glints. Behind the form, a mirror lined with round makeup bulbs reflects the negative space surrounding the subject. A faint haze of hairspray softens the air near the bulbs, diffusing the light slightly against the clear sky. The late autumn season is evident in the sharp, unobstructed shadows cast by the form onto the wall. The black fabric absorbs the light while the silver pins create a scattered constellation of reflections across the dark surface.
