Biogas Plant Above Vineyard Trellises Nicaragua

Rain streaks the view of a functional biogas facility nestled between rows of dormant grapevines in Nicaragua. From a high angle, three cylindrical digesters stand in a line of weathered concrete beside a tall, slender flare stack. The surrounding trellises form a rigid grid of wooden posts and wire, their bare branches against the dark, wet soil. Metal surfaces on the equipment glisten under the diffuse, overcast sky. Puddles collect in the depressions of the ground around the machinery. A few workers in rain gear move slowly near the base of the tanks, their figures small against the industrial structures.
