Dappled sunlight falls through golden autumn leaves onto temporary steel stairs rising through an unfinished concrete shell in Zhengzhou. The open-air construction deck reveals a perfectly clear blue sky above, while workers in high-visibility vests coordinate movements on the exposed floor. A rectangular window frame embedded in the raw concrete wall displays an impossible view: a cozy, warmly lit interior room with wooden furniture and hanging plants, sharply contrasting the rugged outdoor construction site. The steel handrail reflects the autumn light, and the rough texture of the unfinished concrete floor meets the smooth glass of the impossible window. A worker's shadow falls across the metal steps, at the base of the surreal element in the physical reality of the site.
