Autumn Press on Gdynia Quarry Ledge

Copper-toned light washes over a heavy industrial printing press stationed on a rugged quarry ledge near Gdynia. Sheets of newspaper rush through the rollers at high speed, their white surfaces against the machine's dark, oil-stained steel. Low sun casts long, sharp shadows that stretch across the uneven stone floor. Fine dust particles hang suspended in the beams of light, creating visible shafts that illuminate the mechanical parts. The machine's gears and belts move with relentless precision against the backdrop of autumn's bare trees and grey sky. The edges of the paper curl slightly as they exit the rollers, revealing the texture of the printed ink. A shadow from a nearby rock falls across the base of the press, at the base of the heavy equipment in the rocky terrain.
