Ancient Sandstone Cliff Dwelling Before Dawn

Cold silver dawn light spills across a wide valley floor near La Paz, illuminating weathered sandstone cliffs where ancient niches and terraces are carved directly into the rock face. Low-hanging clouds drift just below the ledge, partially veiling the structure in mist while the cool stillness of pre-sunrise holds the air. Peak autumn colors appear as scattered russet and ochre leaves cling to hardy shrubs clinging to the cliff base. The rough, eroded texture of the stone contrasts with the smooth, pale glow of the sky above. A narrow stone path winds along the cliff edge, disappearing into the shadow of the overhang. at the edge is a sharp, dark shadow cast by a protruding stone lintel onto the pale sandstone below.
