Aluminum Smelter Hall Harar Dry Season in inside a grain elevator near Harar

Aluminum Smelter Hall Harar Dry Season

by Bill Mosley

Crisp high-altitude light floods the interior of a long industrial hall, illuminating rows of electrolytic cells within a repurposed grain elevator structure near Harar. The low-angle perspective emphasizes the towering height of the space, where the rough, gray texture of the concrete walls meets the metallic sheen of the smelting equipment. Dramatic, billowing clouds are visible through high windows, casting shifting shadows across the dusty floor. The dry season air is evident in the sharp clarity of the dust motes suspended in the light beams and the parched, cracked earth visible in the gaps between the heavy machinery. Charged material grit coats the lower sections of the cells, against the bright, sterile white of the upper structural beams.
