Under the flat, diffused light of an overcast midday, a narrow alleyway in Chiang Mai’s old city reveals a cluttered, lived-in storefront where local commerce meets daily life. A weathered wooden counter holds a stack of white plastic dish racks beside a chipped ceramic jar with jade-green glaze, likely for storing condiments or tea. Behind the counter, a small Xoloitzcuintli sits alert on a woven mat, watching the damp street where rain has left the concrete slick and reflective. Nearby, a red rowboat rests horizontally on supports, repurposed as a makeshift shelf for fishing floats and small tools, creating a textured collision of river utility and urban density.
