Courier in Chiang Mai

A damp, overcast midday in a Chiang Mai soi, where a motorbike courier pauses beside a narrow concrete shopfront. The rider, clad in a yellow rain slicker, balances a large, translucent cooler jug on the footrest, condensation dripping onto the wet pavement. Behind him, a stack of folded blankets leans against the wall, their synthetic sheen reflecting the flat gray light. A faded red sign with Thai script hangs above a doorway, while a single wall sconce, unlit and dusty, protrudes from the peeling stucco. The gritty reality of local commerce, with the cooler jug serving as the only bright, functional object in a palette of muted grays and weathered earth tones.
