Raindrops rest on the intricate red and gold patterns of a hand-woven sash resting on a coarse woven mat. The fabric lies flat against the damp ground, its fringed edges slightly darkened by the light drizzle. Behind the sash, the street stretches into the distance where the warm orange glow of Aswan buildings rises against the deepening blue sky. Moisture hangs in the air, visible as a soft haze between the foreground textures and the receding streetlights. Wet cobblestones reflect the distant town lights, creating streaks of amber that contrast with the cool grey of the rain. One wet thread on the sash edge catches the fading daylight, highlighting the raw texture of the cotton against the slick pavement.
