Wool Socks Drying by Fireplace in Kayseri Nook

Two thick wool socks hang draped over the low iron grate of a fireplace in a breakfast nook near Kayseri. The dim blue light of early evening falls through a window, casting a cool wash over the rough, knitted texture of the red and grey yarn. Warm interior lamps provide a soft, yellow glow that highlights the frayed edges of the fabric. The floor beneath shows muted reflections of the hanging socks and the flickering firelight, resting against the dark wood. A small pile of kindling sits to the left, untouched, while the negative space around the socks emphasizes their solitary, domestic presence against the darkened room.
