Bright midmorning light streams through a north-facing window, casting sharp shadows across a worn leather armchair in a room near Edirne. Two soft slippers rest on a small woven mat tucked against the chair's base. The leather upholstery shows deep creases and a faded tan hue, against the cool gray of the floorboards. Golden autumn sunlight highlights the texture of the mat's fibers and the subtle dust motes hovering in the air. A wooden window frame borders the left side, its paint chipped to reveal raw wood underneath. The slippers, slightly scuffed at the toes, catch the light on their rounded uppers. A small patch of dried orange leaf sits near the chair leg, marking the season's peak. at the edge is the way the light edge falls precisely along the seam of the right slipper.
