Wool Scarf in Cape Town

One wool scarf hangs draped over the rusted metal railing of a seafront balcony, its deep red fibers absorbing the cool, grey light of the misty dawn. The coarse knit texture is clearly visible against the blurred backdrop of Table Mountain, which disappears into the thick coastal fog hovering above the harbor. Below the balcony, the dark waters of the Atlantic Ocean lap gently against the concrete pier, their surface reflecting the muted sky. Condensation beads on the cold iron of the railing where the fabric meets the metal, showing the chill in the air.
