Wooden Window Box in Nice

A rectangular wooden window box is bolted directly to the rough, pale yellow stucco wall of a building in Nice. Dried lavender sprigs and small green succulents spill over the edge, catching the flat, shadowless light of midday. The texture of the weathered wood grain contrasts with the smooth, sun-bleached plaster of the facade behind it. One dried flower head hangs loosely from the rim, its brittle stem visible against the bright sky.
